Support Resources for Allied Health Professionals

It’s been a tough 7… 8… 9 months for music therapists - and even harder for NDIS participants who’ve lost access to vital supports.

Every single music therapist I know chose this path because they care deeply. They’ve studied for 5+ years to harness one of the most powerful tools we have - music - to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with diverse and complex needs.

The work that music therapists do is impactful, outcome-focussed and full of heart. NDIS plans should reflect what’s meaningful and effective - and for many, that includes working with a registered music therapist.

We have had just a few hurdles to jump or limp over lately: Constant limbo, devaluation, advocacy fatigue. The uncertainty is exhausting. But I believe in the creativity, resilience, and fierce dedication of this community.

It’s hard to overstate the role AMTA has played through all of this. The advocacy has been tireless, and I can only imagine how much work has gone on behind the scenes.

Feeling stuck recently, I decided to build something small - a simple webpage with simple support resources for RMTs. It’s not fancy, but I hope it offers even a little support.
