Our Registered Music Therapists believe music-making should be accessible, meaningful and shaped around each person. Together, we bring experience across disability, mental health, early childhood, aged care, education and community music.

Carlin McLellan
Founder & Registered Music Therapist
BA (Psyc), MMusThy
Carlin founded Play Anything Music Therapy in 2017 with a belief that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in music and experience its benefits.
He has worked with children, teenagers and adults across disability, health and community settings, using music to support communication, confidence, self-regulation and participation.
Carlin was named Music Therapist of the Year at the 2023 Allied Health Awards. He has presented at professional conferences and contributed to published work in music therapy, sharing practical approaches to inclusive and evidence-informed practice. He has also developed programs including Polyphonic and created the RAMSR app as part of the broader Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation program, helping children develop self-regulation skills through music and movement.
Carlin brings warmth, creativity and a strong belief in each person’s capacity to learn, connect and express themselves through music.

Ebony Cook
Registered Music Therapist
BMus, MMusThy.
Ebony is a thoughtful and approachable music therapist whose calm manner helps people feel comfortable from the outset.
Ebony works with children, teenagers and adults in both individual and group settings and is experienced in supporting autistic people and people with intellectual disability to work towards a wide range of personal, social and developmental goals.
Ebony builds sessions around each person’s interests, strengths and preferred ways of learning. She brings a practical and flexible approach to her work and enjoys helping people develop new skills and discover what they are capable of.
Ebony holds a Master of Music Therapy from Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Music from the Newcastle Conservatorium. She is an accomplished pianist and also plays guitar, ukulele and sings. Ebony is committed to ongoing professional development and helps organise a local peer supervision group for music therapists.

Caitlin MacGregor
Registered Music Therapist
BA (Psyc, Anthropology), BMus, MMusThy.
Caitlin brings more than 15 years of experience performing in orchestras, ensembles and folk groups, with viola as her primary instrument. She draws on this broad musical background to create sessions that are participant-led, flexible and fun.
Caitlin is passionate about equity, inclusion and accessibility. She works from each person’s strengths and goals while also considering the families, communities and environments around them. Caitlin supports neurodivergent people and people with a range of physical, developmental and psychosocial support needs, adapting music-making to support their individual goals, strengths and preferred ways of participating.
Caitlin also has an interest in sensory-based and inclusive approaches to music therapy. At the 2024 AMTA National Conference, she presented on the use of a vibroacoustic pillow to increase access to vibroacoustic therapy. She holds a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Music Performance and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Anthropology.

Kyra McMorrow
Registered Music Therapist
BMus (Music Education), MMusThy
Kyra’s experience spans early childhood, disability, palliative care, aged care and community music therapy. She is patient and encouraging, adapting sessions around each person’s interests, strengths and goals.
Kyra’s approach draws on her experience as a music therapist, high school music teacher and active musical theatre performer. An accomplished pianist and vocalist who also plays guitar and ukulele, she uses her broad musical skills to connect with children, teenagers and adults across a wide range of musical styles and ways of participating.
Kyra leads the With One Voice Newcastle choir, creating a welcoming space where people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities can sing and connect. She has also led professional development for health professionals and taught university students about inclusive approaches to music education.
Kyra holds a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Rhys Tranter
Registered Music Therapist
B. Soc. Work, MMusThy
Rhys is a registered music therapist and experienced social worker who brings a strong clinical foundation to his work. He has worked across NSW, Victoria and the United Kingdom in a range of therapeutic, mental health and leadership roles.
Rhys takes a supportive and strengths-based approach, using music to help people build connection, confidence, emotional regulation and wellbeing. His background in counselling and evidence-informed therapeutic practice allows him to respond thoughtfully to each person’s experiences, needs and goals. He has a particular interest in trauma-informed practice, psychosocial support and the ways music can create opportunities for expression and meaningful connection.
Alongside his work at Play Anything, Rhys continues to work in mental health settings and has a strong interest in the use of music therapy within psychosocial and aged care contexts.
